Natural Healing With Ashwagandha

Holistic Solutions That Work

Given the uncertainty of prescription drugs and high price of health care, herbs are more relevant than ever. Instead of reaching for ibuprofen, sleeping pills or antidepressants to treat insomnia, pain, depression and other symptoms, try a more natural approach.
Treating yourself with home remedies is the easiest, least invasive and sometimes the most effective treatment.
Smart drugs (ayurvedic superfoods) have been used for thousands of years to improve cognitive function in all corners of the globe. Records of traditional Chinese medical doctrine date all the way back to 1100 BCE; and in Ayurvedic medicine on the Indian subcontinent, herbs were utilized as cognitive enhancers as early as 5000 BCE.

Natural Healing With Ashwagandha

Why it works: In Ayurvedic tradition, ashwagandha is the great revitalizer. It’s an adaptogen that helps balance out scattered energy, which when stress or hormonal changes leave you feeling drained, ashwagandha can help fill up your tank.
The herb means “smell of horse”, a nod to the strength and vitality of horses. Take ashwagndha when you need to boost your horsepower. It may also increase your sex drive.
Ashwagandha, an adaptogenic herb popular in Ayurvedic medicine, is known in India as the “strength of the stallion” since it has traditionally been used to strengthen the immune system after an illness. It has shown incredible results for lowering cortisol and balancing thyroid hormones.
Sometimes referred to as Indian Ginseng, Ashwagandha can enhance stamina and possesses extraordinary stress-relieving properties comparable to those of powerful drugs used to treat anxiety and depression. Ashwagandha has powerful antioxidant properties and may be a promising alternative treatment for a variety of degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

Take Care of Your Body Today

all the Money in the world can't buy back good health

Take Care Now

“Your body is precious. It is our vehicle for awakening. Treat it with care.” ~Buddha

Your body is not indestructible so you have to take care of it everyday. There’s only so far we can push them before they start to fail.

What can we do for our bodies to treat it well?

1. Take time for exercise.
I admit that I’m not a huge fan of this one because physical activity is part of my 40 hour work week.  Everyday I make sure that I keep my limbs limber by going for a walk with the dogs.  Being in nature is great for Mind Body & Soul.

Practicing some basic yoga is a wonderful way to keep your body flexible.  Even a little activity can have a great impact.

Regular exercise helps prevent or manage a wide range of health problems and concerns, including stroke, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, depression, a number of types of cancer, arthritis and falls.

2. Get enough good sleep.
If you’re tired, even if you feel that you need to get more done, give yourself permission to sleep. Your mind and body uses the sleep time to heal. Some may have reasons that keep sleep from being as refreshing as they might be for others, but rest still makes a difference.

When you’re overtired, you’re more likely to snap at your boss, or burst into tears, or start laughing uncontrollably.

3. Eat well and enjoy food.
We are being more mindful of what we eat nowadays. We have to be almost on guard considering the state of the food we consume.

Eating well means feeding your body what it needs, in the most natural way you can manage and afford. Changing how you eat doesn’t have to happen in one day.  You could add fruit or veggies to one meal a day or swap a cup of coffee for a glass of water instead. Adding superfoods to a smoothie is an easy way to get good nutrition.

Pay attention to flavors, textures, and smells.

4. Listen to pain.
When we have pain it means that something has gone wrong, and your body is trying to tell you. You might pay little attention to pain unless it becomes unbearable. Pain no matter how small, shouldn’t be brushed aside because it represents damage to our bodies. Ignore pain now and it could come back to haunt you later.

If the purpose of pain is to protect the body from further damage, we need to listen.

5. Slow down.
We live in a world where we have to use all our waking hours to get things done. Our family depends on us, our career demands 110% so we squeeze every second out of our day at record speed. But we need to think about how our flesh, bones, muscles, organs, our whole body will eventually suffer.

Your body is precious, so don’t neglect it.  Take at least an hour out of your day a few times a week to care for it. Sleep, eat, rest, get a massage.

Show your body the same compassion that you show everyone else. It needs it just as much.

Turmeric For Sore Muscle Pain

Muscle Pain Relief With Turmeric

You can use Turmeric in place of OTC pain relievers

Turmeric is the spice that gives curry its distinctive flavor and coloring.  Turmeric also has a place in your medicine cabinet for it’s pain-relief benefits. New research suggests that turmeric possesses anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties and also helps to improve circulation and prevent blood clotting. Turmeric has been used in traditional medicines for easing the pain of sprains, strains, bruises and joint inflammation, as well as for treating skin and digestive issues. The healing power of turmeric comes from its active ingredient – curcumin, which lowers the levels of two enzymes in the body that cause inflammation.

MIND – BODY- SOUL Superfoods for busy people.

In a previous study in the Journal of Pain Research, curcumin, the principal curcuminoid of turmeric, has demonstrated a potent pain-relieving effect, even greater than 500 mg of acetaminophen. This study shows that not only is curcumin an effective pain-relieving natural remedy, it also helps prevent and heal muscle injuries and inflammation.

Don’t worry – you don’t need to eat turmeric by the spoonful! Just keep a jar of the powdered spice in your kitchen and add a little to your cooking in place of salt and pepper. If you want a daily dose of turmeric it’s in the three Superfood Shots.

Turmeric Root A Superfood For Heart

Why did HB Naturals put turmeric in the Superfood Shots? Well, it is a Rock Star Superfood.turmeric root superfood

Turmeric Contains Bioactive Compounds With Powerful Medicinal Properties.

Curcumin, the most active constituent of turmeric, has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. According to a trio of studies conducted by researchers from the University of Tsukuba in Japan, curcumin appears to improve heart health as much as moderate aerobic exercise.

In the first study, researchers assigned 32 women to either take a curcumin supplement, engage in moderate aerobic exercise training, or undergo no intervention at all.

The researchers measured participants’ vascular endothelial function – the responsiveness of the layer of cells that line the blood vessels, a key indicator of overall cardiovascular health – both at the beginning and end of the study.

They found that while there was no improvement in the control group, endothelial function significantly increased in both the exercise and curcumin groups.

Most surprisingly, the improvement in the two experimental groups was identical. Important to note that Curcumin is best absorbed from Turmeric Root, rather than from supplements.

In a study published in the journal Biological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin in 2011, researchers from Niigata University of Pharmacy and Applied Life Sciences in Japan found that three weeks of supplementation with the turmeric compound curcumin significantly improved cardiac health in male rats who had been given an injection to induce an autoimmune disease of the heart (autoimmune myocarditis).

The rats supplemented with curcumin also showed a reduction in the area of the heart covered by inflammatory lesions and a reduction in the heart’s weight-to-body-weight ratio. “Our results indicate that curcumin has the potential to protect against cardiac inflammation through suppression of IL-1beta, TNF-alpha, GATA-4 and NF-kB expresses, and may provide a novel therapeutic strategy for autoimmune myocarditis,” the researchers wrote.

Heart & Body Naturals put turmeric in the Mind, Body & Soul superfoods. Since you need to consume it with some fat for best body absorbent, there is coconut oil powder, another superfood.

Do You Have Chronic Inflammation?

Chronic Inflammation, the Silent Killer

The ancient Greeks described inflammation as “the internal fire.” Anyone who has cut, sprained, or burned themselves has experienced pain, heat, redness, and swelling – the sure signs of acute inflammation. Inflammation is one of the body’s natural ways of protecting itself from foreign invaders like viruses, fungi, bacteria, chemicals, toxins, etc. In all these cases, inflammation is a good and natural thing. Without it, wounds would never heal, and germs would win the war.

Unfortunately, as with any process in the body, it is possible to have too much of a good thing… Chronic inflammation is very different from acute inflammation.

Take a shot of superfoods

Chronic inflammation is not the kind you can feel or even something you can see under a microscope. “It’s very subtle,” says Professor Joel Mason, M.D., director of the Vitamins and Carcinogenesis Laboratory at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging (HNRCA) at Tufts. “It’s inflammation on a biochemical level.”

“Inflammation is thought to be an important basis not just for cancer, but for insulin resistance and diabetes and athero-sclerotic disease and any number of other conditions,” Mason says. “There is a lot of research going on into what role inflammation plays in a lot of the chronic degenerative diseases that our society falls prey to.”

Many medical conditions are believed to be linked to chronic inflammation in the body. Some of these include:
• Alzheimer’s Disease
• Asthma
• Cancer
• Chronic Obstructive Lung Diseases (emphysema and bronchitis)
• Chronic Pain
• Type 2 Diabetes
• Heart Disease
• Inflammatory Bowel Disease
• Stroke
• Diseases where the immune system attacks the body, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, or scleroderma

“Age-associated inflammation has been identified as an important contributor to many of the age-associated diseases, including Alzheimer’s, osteoporosis, loss of muscle mass and infection, in addition to cancer and cardiovascular disease.” ~ Simin N. Meydani

Blood tests for markers such as C-reactive protein (CRP) are a means to determining your degree of silent inflammation.

Should you get tested? If you answer “yes” to more than three of the following questions, you could benefit from a CRP blood test.
* Do you smoke?
*Do you have diabetes?
*Do you have gum disease?
*Are you overweight?
*Are you always craving carbohydrates?
*Are you constantly hungry?
*Are you tired, especially after exercise?
*Are your fingernails brittle?
*Are you constipated?
* Are you groggy upon waking?
*Do you have difficulty concentrating?
*Do you have headaches?

Are you affected by an inflammation-rooted disease? We invite you to lower your body’s inflammation with MIND, BODY, and SOUL Ayurvedic Superfood Shots so you can look and feel great again!
